(Before you read this blog post, grab your headphones and listen to a song you’d like to jam to in the car at night. Preferably one that gets you excited.)
-------------------------------------
After a long day, all you want to do is to not care about a thing. So you kick off your shoes, take a nice bath, put your PJ’s on and lie on your bed. Not being able to sleep just yet, you stare at the ceiling, letting your thoughts wander into places.
Your best friend calls you and says to pick you up in five for a random night ride. Without any hesitation, you agree. What harm could a night ride do on a Saturday night?
Once your feet are set into the car, the right set of playlist began blasting through the speakers, setting the mood for a night ride.
“You ready to get lost in the wild?”
Definitely.
As the car hits the road, city lights surround you with the sight of tall buildings. Colors, words and lights start to put excitement into your eyes. You look out the window, feeling mesmerized by everything that’s going on around you, and you begin to seize the moment.
Reaching the highway, you roll down your side of the window because you know your best friend is going to step on that pedal and make this ride even more interesting. Your best friend turns off the air conditioner and rolls down all the windows.
A daredevil was starting to unleash beneath you. You think about it, but at the same time, you don’t. So, you do it anyway.
You reach for the hood of the car to pull your body up so you would sit on the empty space left by the car window, with your body outside. A roar of cheer was mixed with the wind. All you feel right now is the wind kissing your face. But you also feel free.
You smile. You laugh. You never want this ride to end.
You don’t care about how the wind is making a mess of your hair nor did you care about the fear of falling onto the ground.
You’re at an unreachable level.
It was the strangest feeling, but it made you feel good. It made you feel happy.
Signboards run past and you catch a glimpse of the words. Wait, where?
Nobody knows where you’re going. Heck, even your best friend doesn’t know where he/she is driving to. The destination didn’t matter because you don’t have a care in the world.
You look up to the stars. You trace the dots it made.
The ride is wild. You are wild.
Everything didn’t seem to make sense and you feel out of this world.
It’s like a party was going on in your body. Your hands in pumping fists, your head flinging right and left, your heartbeat following the beat of the song.
Mostly, your heart is in the right state. And that’s the reason why you’re feeling what you’re feeling.
Don’t be afraid to take drastic measures for your own happiness. The only person who’s going to love you for who you are is yourself.
Take a ride. A wild one.
You won't regret making yourself happy. That I can promise.
