WHITE FOREST

An ice cold breeze, a fresh scent of clean air, visible breath as you exhale, and a clear vision of nothing but pure white on the ground.

You fix the greyish-white beanie on your head because your ears were starting to get cold. Snowflakes start to fall from your head as you adjust your beanie.

What are you doing out in the woods during snowfall? You have no idea.

You just wanted to escape to a peaceful, clean and a quiet place. Where no one would be able to find you. A place where you can relax and forget about the world.

The snow around you looks like a comfortable bed for you to just jump on and lay down. It would be perfect to make a snow angel right now.

The dark brown color of the tree trunks matched the white background perfectly. You place your hands on one of the tree trunks near you to feel the roughness of it. It feels hard, solid and as rough as the road.

You continue to walk, leaving footprints in the snow. Your brown winter boots sinks in every time you take a deep step into the snow.

You spot an animal from afar. A deer? An antelope? You smile at yourself for that. Animals make you happy. And that, made you happy.

Just by simply seeing an animal, your eyes curved downwards into a moon shape and the edge of your lips curved upwards.

You randomly inhale in a deep breath.

Oh, too cold. Oops.

You quickly sink your face into your light brown scarf. Exhaling and inhaling.

Wow, it’s like your whole body got frozen just by inhaling.

Covering you nose with your hands, you close your eyes as well. With every breath, you warm yourself again. When you open your eyes, your eyelashes caught a few snowflakes.

You try your best to blink it away but only a few got out. It’s okay though. You look like a snow princess anyway.

Walking back to your cottage, you’re excited to for warmth.

Once in, you make yourself a cup of hot chocolate. Placing your hands on the side of the cup, you exhale through your mouth with a sense of satisfaction. Ah, sure feels good.

It sure feels good to be home.
