Covered. Everything is covered.
Our eyes, our ears, our feet, our touch, our imagination, our minds.
Our heart.
Why?
“We don’t have that opportunity anymore. Everything is ugly and polluted.”
Is it really? Is everything really ugly and polluted? Or is it the other way round?
Why do we always seem to cover every part of beauty there is around us and focus on other things that doesn’t require our attention?
Take off your sunglasses. Take it off and admire the real colour of nature. The colour of leaves, tree trunks, flowers, fruits, bugs, and insects. But most importantly, pay attention to the different shade of colour the sky has for us every day.
Take off your earphones/headphones. Take it off and listen to what the bird has to sing or listen to how the crickets call out. Listen to the movement of air around us, the wind that blows past us, the crashing of waves onto the shore.
Take off your shoes. Take it off and let the sand tickle your feet. Let your feet taste the hot and cold on the ground. Let your feet feel the rushing water in the sea, river and pool. Let your feet experience the crunchy leaves on the ground, the cold snow during winter and the gooey liquid in your bathroom.
Take off that imaginary and non-existent glove you have in your hand. Let your hand, rub on the surface of the leaf that you’ve been dying to touch and enjoy that tingling feeling after that. Let your fingers run past the wind when you’re in the car. Let it express its feelings in its own form.
Give your body the freedom to feel, experience and taste. Don’t restrict their movements because it’ll be a shame to know that you’ve never felt how a dry leaf should feel like.
Take it off, let loose and keep that memory.
